Huttopia brings seasonal camping to Mar Azul from December

At an elevation that is not relevant to the coast, snow is not part of the forecast for this opening: Huttopia will debut on 4 December in Mar Azul, in the partido de Villa Gesell, with a seasonal operation scheduled from October to April and a first season that will run until 2 May 2027.

A natural setting between forest, sea and sandy streets

The project occupies 55 hectares of pine forest, of which 20 will be enabled for camping. The initial offer includes 240 pitches for tents and motorhomes, as well as 20 equipped tents with beds, a swimming pool and a common area with a bar and restaurant. The company estimates 60,000 overnight stays per year.

The pitches will be divided into categories, from basic options to sites with electricity, an individual grill and a picnic table. For travelers arriving in a motorhome or caravan, the property will provide water charging and disposal services for gray and black water, an infrastructure that remains relatively uncommon in Argentina.

  • 240 pitches for tents and motorhomes
  • 20 equipped tents with beds
  • Swimming pool and common area with bar and restaurant
  • Water charging and gray and black water disposal services
  • Basic food service complemented by businesses in Mar Azul and nearby towns

The equipped tents are intended for visitors who want to experience camping without bringing their own equipment. Published prices begin at 36,000 pesos per night for a basic pitch and reach 165,000 pesos for a tent for five people, with variations according to season and category.

Connectivity will be deliberately limited, with wifi available only in some common areas. The activities for children will include walks and outdoor games, while excursions for adults, such as horseback riding, will be provided by local operators. The food offering inside the property will be basic and is designed to be complemented by the restaurants and shops available in Mar Azul and nearby localities.

“We chose Mar Azul because we found a place that represents very well the way we understand nature tourism.”Julien Brun, director of Huttopia for Latin America

Brun said that the combination of forest, sea and sandy streets was decisive in the company's decision. Huttopia was founded in Lyon in 1999 and operates close to 200 campgrounds in nine countries in Europe and North America. Mar Azul will be its first destination in Latin America.

The initial investment is estimated between 3 and 5 million dollars. The establishment is expected to create between 15 and 25 direct jobs and more than 70 indirect jobs. Before 2030, the company also plans to develop projects in four national parks, according to the information provided.

What to bring and what to leave behind

Visitors who reserve a basic pitch should confirm the included services and bring their own camping equipment. Those choosing an equipped tent will find beds available, but should check the specific conditions of each accommodation before traveling. Since the operation is seasonal and the connectivity is limited, it is advisable to bring offline navigation, appropriate clothing and supplies for outdoor activities, while avoiding dependence on constant internet access or on a wide range of services inside the property.
